Stainless Steel Materials
Manufactured from 316L and 434L
Our stainless steel flakes are manufactured from 316L and 434L. However, many other compositions can be produced if required. Stainless steel flakes are finely divided with a uniform particle size that can be adjusted to customer specifications. These flakes are recommended for use in water and solvent based paint or coating systems.
316L is produced for use in demanding applications that require superior corrosion resistance and abrasion resistance. 316 stainless steel incorporates about 2 to 3 percent molybdenum that increases corrosion resistance, particularly against chlorides and other industrial solvents beyond that of other 300 series steels.
316 stainless steel is used in many industrial applications involving processing chemicals, as well as high-saline environments such as coastal regions and outdoor areas where de-icing salts are common. Principal uses include coatings for heavy industrial equipment for the chemical and food industries and coatings for high wear parts on off-road vehicles.
